Typographic circle X Pentagram - Angus Hyland
Again continuing that whole idea of patterns incorporating the artist's initials, so with Angus Hyland i sat with a print out of his initial in front of me and i started tracing outlines of the characters, i tried too create something harsher on the eye like an illusion, however it looked more like woodgrain so ran with that idea throughout the whole supplement.
Another idea i had was, in previous supplements i had used an orange info. box and quotes. This time i thought i would use Cyan too mimic water which worked well once the quotes interacted with the images, for example the second last spread, the quotation reminds me of water flooding down a water flume ride for some reason.
But the hardest thing i found about this particular spread was finding the right color for the actual article type, i'm still not particularly sure about the brown i used, i personally think it kind of just blends into the background due too the large images.
This supplement in my opinion looks a little bland just because of how much white space is left, which is made too look worse by the spaces between the brown lines. However, overall im happy with the way this and the other two supplements came out, although again that could be personal bias.
