Pentagram

I (not personally) took up an editorial brief from pentagram which was on the D&AD website, the brief was about producing a supplement for the typographic circle which should include three artists and four covers. I chose too do work for Rian Hughes and Morag Myerscough, however i wasn't allow too do work which looked like any of there work, so i decided too use there initials using Helvetica lettering because the "typ" on the typographic circle is in helvetica, i also thought i would create a yarn ball looking pattern around he lettering. The work above is my final pieces which became my supplement, However i did do a different layout for the Morag Myerscough in the end as i thought the one above didn't look great as the text looked too ridged.
With this brief i felt like i had a better understanding when it came too digital experimentation and page layout and i think my designs are starting too look a lot better.

The logo above was designed for a online service for the construction website which helps employers find employees and vise versa, so i went for the stereotypical colours of black and yellow, however the inspiration behind the design was the old TV show Land Of The Giants, the logo typeface looked like it was made from a rock face with all the sever edges and what looks like crack on the actual colour.
In all honesty i think i duplicated the typeface quite well without it being a complete knock off but looking back it was a good brief maybe i should of put more effort into it.
